The pain experienced by patients with breast cancer will affect their physical and emotional . Although painkillers widely available, there is no harm in using natural resources and non-medical , one of which is the most sociable .

A new study suggests, a good social interaction with family and friends can reduce pain so that they can improve the quality of life of patients .

The study involved 3,100 women in California who was diagnosed with breast cancer during 2006 to 2011. For about two months after being diagnosed , they were asked to complete questionnaires on social networks , how to support them, as well as the physical and emotional quality of life .

Kaiser Permanente researchers conclude women with larger social networks tend to have better quality of life for the treatment of breast cancer.

According to them , positive social interaction such as fun activities with family and friends is an important thing that determines the quality of life of patients. Patients with positive social interaction with little or no transactions reported poorer quality of life.

The study, published in the journal Breast Cancer Research and Treatment has also found support from the family, such as bringing food and administration of treatment is the most important in helping cancer patients factor advanced by the disease.

Author of the study Candyce Kroenke , a research staff of the research division of Kaiser Permanente , said this study provides scientific evidence that social support can help relieve the physical symptoms of cancer.

" The mechanism of social support contributes to physical healing," he said .

In Indonesia, breast cancer is a type of cancer most frequently diagnosed cancer among women in the upper middle class. Number of patients with breast cancer continues to increase. However, the greatest hope for recovery , one with good social support available to them to improve their quality of life.
